Research Interests

Well-being in the school context - impact on achievement, educational motivation and goal orientation of teachers and pupils; Implementation science and knowledge transfer - implementation of evidence-based interventions in educational contexts



Julia Holzer first studied at the University College of Teacher Education Vienna (PH Wien) and taught for four years at a secondary school (Neue Mittelschule) in Vienna. There she was particularly involved in the field of music education and implemented projects to promote emotional regulation and well-being through the use of methods of elementary music making. Parallel to this activity, she began studying psychology at the University of Vienna. From 2017 to 2018 she was also a student project assistant in the project "Third Mission of the University of Vienna" and a tutor at the Center for Teacher Education. In the fall of 2018 she graduated with distinction from her master's degree in applied psychology (focus on work, education and economy). Since December 2018 she is university assistant and doctoral candidate at the Department for Psychology of Development and Education.
