CV
In 2025, Mélanie Maximino Pinheiro completed her PhD at the Laboratory for the Psychology of Child Development and Education (LaPsyDÉ, Université Paris Cité, France), where she collaborated with psychologists, cognitive science researchers, and neuroscientists. In her dissertation, she investigated the role of metacognition in academic achievement and socioeconomic inequalities in early childhood education.
Since 2026, she has been a University Assistant (Postdoc) in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology. Her current research aims to explore the links between metacognition and socio-emotional aspects of development, expand her research on educational inequalities, and deepen her work on transfer and implementation research in order to better inform educational practices and policies.
She previously worked as a teaching fellow at several universities, teaching courses in developmental and educational psychology, scientific methodology in psychology and education, and mind-brain-education approaches. She is also an affiliated researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP, Sciences Po, France), where she collaborates with economists and sociologists within the Educational Policies Team.
