Research Interests

Mentoring in higher education, transition to college, teaching and learning with new media 


Birgit Leidenfrost completed her doctoral studies in the humanities (dissertation area: psychology) at the University of Vienna in 2012. As part of this, she was a project collaborator on the Cascaded Blended Mentoring project. Since September 2012, she has been a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Devlopmental and Educational Psychology with a diverse range of courses: e.g. Supervised Orientation Tutorial (SOT), Psychological Skills I and II, Presentation and Facilitation Techniques, Professional Literature Seminar, Bachelor Thesis Seminar. She is responsible for the organization and implementation of SOT for first-year psychology students as well as the training and supervision of Student Advisors who supervise first-year students in small groups during SOT.
