Teaching Focus
Birgit Leidenfrost has been a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology since 2012, offering a very diverse range of courses. This includes courses in the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology, which focus on basic scientific concepts, methods and skills on the one hand, and on the practice-oriented application of psychological knowledge on the other, as well as in-depth content seminars in the Master's degree program in Psychology. In 2024, Dr. Leidenfrost was awarded the UNIVIE Teaching Award for the SE Practice-oriented Seminar in Psychology. She has also managed and organized the Faculty of Psychology's peer mentoring programme since 2022: https://mentoring-psychologie.univie.ac.at/.
CV
Birgit Leidenfrost received her doctorate in psychology from the University of Vienna in 2012. As part of her dissertation, she was a research assistant in the Cascaded Blended Mentoring project and a lecturer in the field of educational psychology. From 2012 to 2022, Dr. Leidenfrost was responsible for the organization and implementation of the Supervised Orientation Tutorial (SOT) for first-semester students of psychology as well as the training and supervision of student advisors, who supervised the first-semester students in small groups as part of SOT.
