Jonathan Fries defended his dissertation in the field of natural sciences (subject area: psychology) in 2024. Since March 2024, he has been a university assistant (post-doc) in the Department of Educational Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of Development and Education. Previously, he worked as a university assistant (pre-doc) in the Department of Differential Psychology and as a tutor and lecturer for statistics and methodology. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as a research assistant at the Medical University of Vienna.

His research focuses on meta-analysis, intelligence research, emotion psychology and methodology and development.
